IHMRI Research community - Overview

Launched in 2009, the IHMRI Research Network is a community of academics, clinicians, health service professionals and community leaders with a common interest in advancing health and medical research in the Illawarra region.

The network provides a broadly encompassing structure to connect researchers and interested individuals across many organisations and encourage support for health and medical research in the region by providing opportunities for information sharing, networking and engagement. IHMRI conducts a comprehensive program of workshops, seminars and other events for the network and distributes a quarterly newsletter to all members.

As of early 2016, the network comprised around 640 affiliated researchers, students and others, plus around 420 other network members representing a wide range of health services around Illawarra region.

Network members participate in IHMRI’s program of events and other activities by nominating their primary and secondary themes of interest. This enables IHMRI to target relevant audiences with invitations to events, seminars and conferences, grant information and other notifications.
